How Does SiftMate Work?

SiftMate helps you assess the credibility of content you find online. Below we explain what happens to the link or text you submit for checking, and how to interpret the results.

What happens after you submit content?

When you share a link or paste text, the app analyses the material in two steps:

  1. Automatic initial analysis — the app checks basic signals, such as connection security, the presence of author information, or characteristic content features. We call the results of this step initial observations.
  2. Full analysis — if you choose a deeper check, the content is analysed by artificial intelligence. The AI model searches for context, compares information with other sources, and presents its findings along with a credibility assessment.
Important: Submitted content is used solely to carry out the analysis. We do not publish it, share it, or use it in any other way.

What will you receive?

What are SiftMate results?

What SiftMate results are not?

Artificial intelligence is not infallible.

Results may contain errors, inaccuracies or outdated information. AI analyses content based on available data — it does not have access to every source in the world and cannot verify every fact. Treat results as one of many opinions, not as a final verdict.

Why do we do it this way?

We believe it's better to have quickly accessible observations than none at all. Every day we encounter hundreds of pieces of content online and don't have time to independently verify each one. SiftMate doesn't replace your judgement — but it gives you additional information that helps you make more informed decisions about what to trust.
